10am: Siam Center & Siam Discovery

Siam Center and Siam Discovery

Overview:

Siam Center and Siam Discovery Center are twin shopping malls. Siam Center was built in 1973 and was one of Bangkok’s first shopping malls. It has undergone renovation several times, including after a fire in 1995. The latest renovation features a concept of “Magical Glass Box” and gives the four-story mall a new food court and a market position as a “fashion center” for teenagers. (from Wikipedia)

11.30am: DS67 Suites at Sukhumvit 67 Road, Phra Khanong

At a glance of Ds67 Suites with nice stay of 7D6N!

Hotel is conveniently at a minute walking distance from BST Phra Khanong station. The local convenient store Family Mart is just next to the hotel. Staffs are friendly and very helpful. Hotel is modern designed, clean and comfortable. However our room is nearby the main road so it is quite noisy during rush hour. I can feel the mattress is a bit shaking when the big vehicle passed by the main road. Overall, it is ideal choice for young traveler with outstanding services and modern boutique hotel.

12noon: BTS Phra Khanong to BTS Sala Daeng

After checked in and loaded the luggage, we walked to the BTS Phra Khanong station in less than a minute.

I bought the BTS Sky SmartPass with Baht500 inclusive of Baht30 for Issuing fee(not refundable), Card Deposit(refundable) and ride value of Baht440. Go to the BTS website, find the price and travel time to plan your BTS trip. Get a copy of  BTS routes map from each BTS information counter. BTS Skytrain linked most of the shopping malls and sightseeing areas, therefore it is very convenient to travel by BTS.

1pm: Lunch @ Bug & Bee on Silom road

BTS Sala Daeng E3

Bug & Bee

This is our first dining in Bangkok. Why we choose this? Recommended by the Thai travel guide, owned by Hongkie with creative fusion foods and drinks. However, the foods are average and not up to my expectation :p.

2pm: Silom Complex

After lunch, we went to Silom Complex which is a bit quiet, but the restaurants and TOPS supermarket in the basement aren’t bad. Central (department store) is at the rear of the complex and is accessible at every level of the complex. The top floor of Silom Complex has a large electrical goods retailer and a well-stocked office supplies retailer. The Japan franchise 100-yen shop – Daiso is located at the ground floor.

BTS Sala Daeng Exit 4

View from pedestrian bridge linked with Silom Complex and BTS Sala Daeng Exit 4

We went to the 7-Eleven along Silom road to buy famous local made soy soya(13Baht), 1.5 liter drinking water(15Baht), Darlie toothpaste 40gram(13Baht) and Strepsil * 8pcs(25Baht). The daily used groceries are cheaper than Malaysia even we bought it from 7-Eleven.

After long distance travel from KL to BKK, we’re quite tired and plan to back to Hotel to take a nap. At around 3.30pm we took BTS Sala Daeng and back to Phra Khanong, bought breads for tonight’s dinner from Japanese-style confectionery store – Yamazaki.

It’s took 20 minutes by BTS Skytrain to back to Ds67 Suites. On the way back to Ds67 Suite, we went to FamilyMart and bought the 5 liter drinking(45Baht) and Mama Tom Yum Cup Noodle(13Baht) for tonight’s dinner.
